Doula Your Birth! What is a doula?

Have you ever wondered what a doula is? How would you feel if you could have someone that you could talk to anytime during pregnancy? If you had someone that could attend your labor and provide you and your partner physical, emotional and education support. Would you enjoy that? What about if you had someone to help you know and feel comfortable about what may be happening. Would you appreciate that?

A doula is someone who can provide all of that among many other things.

Here is more about the doula behind Tiny Blessings doula services. She has currently been a doula for just over two years. Meagan Heaton is certified through DONA international CD(DONA) and also through the Midwives College of Utah as an Advanced Doula AD(MCU). Therefore her trainings, certifications, and personal experience in the birth room her knowledge has grown so much.

Tiny Blessings Doula services supports all birthing types and birthing places. In additional to her own birth experiences she has experience with Home birth, hospital birth (Medicated, un-medicated, induction, c-section, VBAC), and Birth center births. In addition to doula work she offers Placenta Encapsulation and non professional photography.

As your birth doula she will strive you make your birthing experience calm and memorable and will help educate before entering the birth room. Helping your partner with key counter pressure tips and answering any questions afterword during the postpartum period is important to her. . Feel free to call, text, or e mail with any questions or to set up your free interview.

Erika Halligan’s Birth

It was the morning of August 1oth that Erika and Mason knew their world was about to change for the better. Erika was 43 weeks pregnant and was ready to meet her baby boy. The air was warm and the sun was just coming up as I pulled up to their house that morning. We arrived at the hospital just after the scheduled time and 36 hours later August 11th Erika delivered un-medicated and with such grace her 9lb 15oz baby boy covered in vernix!…….. Enjoy her birth story Via Slides here

Thankful!

For the month of November I will be posting a couple birth stories a week. Birth is something I am so grateful for and I love being able to read birth stories, watch videos, or see inspiring pictures. While I was pregnant with my baby boy prepping for my “dream birth” reading stories and watching videos was something that I loved to do on a daily basis. It really helped me prep for my birth in a way. As a doula I am so grateful to be apart of these beautiful stories as well and would love to help mommas out there who may need an inspiring birth story to read. If you have a story you would like to share please e mail me HERE.
